I agree Mari Ana. This man playing God, allowing people to kill themselves. I don't care how much pain you are in, believe me when I say I know about pain, you just do not end your life because of pain, there are many other avenues for a person to go down and killing yourself or even having the audacity to assist in this is going way overboard.

I can't believe this is discussed, put out in an article, and not "outraged" in our society. Fifty years and older? Our country is NOT Christain. Christianity is being drowned out by atheistic creeps who consider and deem themselves as God. Any person of family who buys this for their loved ones should go to hell. Believe me they will. Birth and death are matters which God controls;not you and I.

The children learned"what"? lesson.....I just wrote a comment on the bulletin page. I received one comment.I took my thoughts from a blog on The American Kafir. It shows me people are not interested in what they should be interested in . Forget the one world order, the government spraying poison(or are they), all these little details such as Obamas birth certificate, quibbling over these day in and day out. In the meantime the important issue is the radical Muslims infiltrating our country, now our children. The important issue is the fact that Muslims are NOT peaceful. We are breeding Jihad next door to us. How STUPID can people be not to get as mad as hell at this movement. The rest of the jibbering will pale next to what will happen before our own eyes and, sooner than we realize. It makes me so angry... The stupidity of people gets on my last nerve.

“Climategate” started out when there appeared on the Internet a collection of e-mails of a group of climatologists who work in the University of East Anglia in England. These documents reveal that some climatologists of international preeminence have manipulated the data of their investigations and have strongly tried to discredit climatologists who are not convinced that the increasing quantities of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere are the cause of global warming.

It is true that a majority of the scientists who study climatic tendencies in our atmosphere have arrived at the conclusion that the world’s climate is changing, and they have convinced a group of politicians, some of whom are politically powerful, of the truth of their conclusions.

A minority, however, is skeptical. Some believe that recent data that suggest that the average temperature of the atmosphere is going up can be explained by natural variations in solar radiation and that global warming is a temporary phenomenon. Others believe that the historical evidence indicating that the temperature of the atmosphere is going up at a dangerous rate is simply not reliable.

Such lacks of agreement are common in the sciences. They are reduced and eventually eliminated with the accumulation of new evidence and of more refined theories or even by completely new ones. Such debates can persist for a period of decades. Academics often throw invective at one another in these debates. But typically this does not mean much.

But the case of climate change is different. If the evidence indicates that global warming is progressive, is caused principally by our industrial processes, and will probably cause disastrous changes in our atmosphere before the end of the twenty-first century, then we do not have the time to verify precisely if this evidence is reliable. Such a process would be a question of many years of new investigations. And if the alarmist climatologists are right, such a delay would be tragic for all humanity.

The difficulty is that economic and climatologic systems are very complicated. They are not like celestial mechanics, which involves only the interaction of gravity and centrifugal force, and efforts to construct computerized models to describe these complicated systems simply cannot include all the factors that are influential in the evolution of these complicated systems.

All this does not necessarily indicate that the alarmist climatologists are not right. But it really means that if global warming is occurring, we cannot know exactly what will be the average temperature of our atmosphere in the year 2100 and what will be the average sea level of the world’s ocean in that year.

It also means that we cannot be confident that efforts by the industrialized countries to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere will have a significant influence on the evolution of the world’s climate.

Alas, the reduction of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere would be very costly and would greatly change the lives of all the inhabitants of our planet--with the possibility (perhaps even the probability!) that all these efforts will be completely useless.

Obama's speech had a teeter-totter effect. And, what audacity to mention Islam as a "great" religion!! What happens 18 months from the surge, if we simply "cannot" get out of the war!! I want to hear his speech of isolated words coming out of the mouth of an inane soul. Obama is an embarrassment to America,to life. Only God can help this man now...the American people are fed up: the academy showed this during his feeble oratory.

I’m also concerned about the program expanding! I hear that Virgin Mobile will be starting up their own version of this, using taxpayer dollars. WTF???

Ohhhh...Best Buy is in trouble! lol
I think "happy holidays" carries with it a hidden agenda in singling out one holiday for generic treatment. ...sort of like "take that" with a smile. I recommend the following post, which I enjoyed: http://deligentia.wordpress.com/2009/11/29/happy-holidays-as-a-weapon/

Hold on!

Is this really a bad thing?

Not really. This is really actually a very good example of a public-private initiative.

The money has been collected by 25+ years and was applied to landlines. Under the Bush Administration, the program began to include cheapo, low-end cell phones (the ones that sell for under $10 at gas stations and discount stores).

TracFone provides the phones and minutes, and the recipients can buy more as needed.

I could see being upset if they gave away cars, iPhones or cable TV, but Tracfones are hardly luxury items and it's not worth getting worked up about, truly.

Thank you.

The best way to get a good understanding of what the book is about is to read it in sequence, using the "Chapte by Chapter" page on the right.

"the world’s largest and most diverse gathering" - How exactly is it diverse?

These are all Muslims, believing in the same stupid and deadly nonsense, following orders like sheep with very little understanding... How is it diverse.

And another thing - I amd personally offended when Islam is referred to as "Abrahamic" faith. It is anything but.

They have a personality called "Ibrahim", who bears little or no resemblence to the Biblical Abraham.

Islam is not "Abrahamic". It is barbaric and dangerous.

See my post of today regarding the Hajj

I disagree, the Sullivan Report clearly shows that by giving a poor man a cell phone you give him the opportunity to earn money so he is no longer dependent on society and has the chance to become a working man who is not a burden any more but someone that can contribute. I think it's a very good idea.
